Front Row Recap
ACE Collision Course 2011
by Hank Zipper
Hello everyone in the ACE Nation. This is Hank Zipper, the one and only, and I’m here to bring you the latest edition of FRONT ROW RECAP here on ACEProWrestling.com. I apologize for the lateness of my review of Collision Course, but due to the renovations of ACEProWrestling.com and to other issues within ACE, this column hasn’t been able to go online. But now, this column - written for the ACE Nation, by the ACE Nation - is online NOW. And let’s get this column under way.
Jack Gallow defeats Mike Donovan; Gallow becomes the ACE of Diamonds and joins the ACES - Jack Gallow, the young rookie, has been making quite the impact in American Championship Entertainment. Ever since making his debut in July at Crossroads, Gallow has been quite awesome, in particular, winning Battlebowl at Anarchy in August. And on September 10, “the Protector of Pro Wrestling” kept it up, Gallow went one-on-one with former Diamond Division champion Mike Donovan. Donovan, who can adapt to any style, was unable to find his footing throughout the entire contest, as Gallow stretched and tortured the man from the South Side of Brooklyn. Finally, Gallow caught Donovan in a pinning predicament and won the match. Big win for “the Protector of Pro Wrestling”, however, he might have hit the jackpot when Mike Morgan and the 4 ACES came out to the ring.
Morgan announced that effective that moment, Rob Vegas was fired from the ACES for the fact that he posed around too much and wasn’t an effective member of the group. However, the ACE owner and the 4 ACES, who surrounded Gallow like he was about to be jumped, especially since Gallow eliminated Danny Maff to win Battlebowl the month before at Anarchy, started to smile and asked if Gallow wanted to be the new ACE of Diamonds. Gallow, who knew he needed to make a decision ASAP, accepted and the 4 ACES were a full deck again. I will miss Vegas as a member of the esteemed group, but Gallow brings a new intensity you don’t see in many individuals inside the ring. If you thought Gallow had hit the jackpot before, he might have won the Powerball lottery after what he got himself into at the end of the night.
The Order of the Black is even more dangerous; takes out both Eddie Kingston and Tiny Johnson after Tiny pinned Stockade in grudge tag team match - Ever since Stockade won the Diamond Division championship back at IndyMania, he has done everything in his power to hold on to his belt and keep it in his fold. Thusfar, he has introduced his crew into ACE one step at a time - first Nikki Syx, then Rodz, followed up with Crusher Doogan and now Lawless - and made sure they were known as the Order of the Black. However, on September 10, there was a bit of a setback with the OOTB, as in the big tag team grudge match, Andrew “Tiny” Johnson and “the King of Diamonds” Eddie Kingston defeated Stockade and Rodz, when Tiny pinned the Diamond Division champion with Splash Mountain off the second rope. Afterwards, the big man, who we know now as Lawless, came out and beat the holy hell out of Kingston and Tiny, most notably to the knee of the “King of Diamonds”. The Order of the Black finally nailed a vicious shot to that knee, utilizing a steel chair, and crippling Eddie badly enough that he needed to be helped to the back. The Order of the Black is truly a force to be reckoned with in ACE to say the very least, despite the fact I don’t agree with their methods.
Jay Lethal beats Danny Maff by DQ; Gallow tries to get the upper hand on Jay, but Lethal reverses; challenges Gallow to a match - For the first time in ACE, Jay Lethal faced off with Danny Maff. The last time “the ACE of Spades” and Lethal were in the same ring together was back at Crossroads VII, when Lethal kicked Maff in the face with the infamous superkick inside the confines of a steel cage. Now, inside the free reign of a regular singles contest, both men really kicked things into a higher gear, however really just wrestling a strategy based contest. Maff went immediately to his power game, using his bulk and size to his advantage, meanwhile Jay went to the speed and quickness of his offensive game. It was a great battle between two men, however, Lethal came within an eyelash of becoming the victor, when JACK GALLOW attacked Lethal, making an automatic DQ victory for the “golden child of ACE”. However, just as Gallow was looking to unleash the finish touches on his victim, Lethal fired back and got both Maff and Gallow out of the ring. Lethal grabbed a microphone and started going off on the ACES, in particular, to Mike Morgan, about how ever since the ACES were formed, it has been all corrupt within the management of ACE. Lethal decided to offer a match to the ACE Owner: Jay Lethal vs. Jack Gallow. If Lethal wins, he gets to do something to even the power structure in ACE: by naming the first ever ACE Commissioner. Morgan agreed... under one condition; if Gallow wins, Jay Lethal would have no choice but to align himself with the ACES. Lethal accepted. This match would have taken place at Rise to Power, however, things went haywire. You’ll hear how in a moment.
Jorge Luis Rivera defeated the Sheik to retain the ACE Heavyweight Championship - JL Rivera has already started to prove himself as a fighting champion in ACE. Even after “Ayatollah” Morgan brought in the Sheik to maim and destroy his former best friend, Rivera did not back down. And at Collision Course, Rivera walked into a no-DQ match and went face-to-face with the Madman from the Sudan. In an all-out war, Rivera survived and pinned the Sheik to retain his ACE Heavyweight championship. At this point, we, the ACE Nation, were going all in for the scheduled JL Rivera and CARLITO against Danny Maff and Savio Vega on November 12 at Rise to Power at the ACE Arena, however something happened...
THE ACE ARENA closes; Rise 2 Power cancelled; A New Era Has Begun scheduled... PART 2 coming soon.
